Three Favorite Ice Cream Places Just Down the Road Near Stockton, IL
Tropical Sno
Tropical Sno is a lovely dessert shop that everyone in our area stops at whenever they need a sweet treat. See them at 583 N Rush St. They open at 3pm and close at 9pm every day of the week. They have just an endless variety of flavors here, so you can bring the whole family or the gang from work and know that everyone will be satisfied.
Personally, we love the retro flavor of the orange creamsicle, but the cherry lemonade is also really good. The grasshopper is going to be the right choice for the “right” person: it’s mint and vanilla. The Blackhawk Passion is well-designed, too, with passion fruit and black cherry.
La Michoacana Irmanaju Shop
If you’re looking for a place to stop when you’re headed west, this is an unusual and delicious stop at 110 S Main St in Galena. The selection of treats here is second to none, and in addition to frozen treats, they also have wonderful baked goods and paletas. Their frozen goodness is all made in-house, from fresh ingredients, and it really shows.
Their popsicles come in every flavor from chocolate to eggnog, snickers to fresa-strawberry. They have scoops in pistachio, cheesecake, bubble gum, lime, mango, brownie, and lots more delicious flavors. They’ll do you a very nice banana split.
Munchies Cereal and Shake Bar
Come on into Freeport and visit us! And while you’re here, you have to stop at Munchies at 116 W Douglas St. They’re open Monday through Friday from 10:45 until 6pm, and you will never regret the stop. There’s a playroom for the kids, and the shakes are out of this world. Basically, imagine being able to build your shake with absolutely anything you can possibly imagine.
So, imagine this: a Death by Chocolate Shake, which is scoops of chocolate blasted with chocolate candy, covered in a chocolate drizzle, and then liberally sprinkled with Reese’s candy, KitKats, NuttyBuddys, and sprinkles. Your kids will be thrilled with the Unicorn Waffle Sundae, which is a fresh waffle topped with two scoops of vanilla sprinkle, then covered with strawberries, bananas, strawberry wafers, chocolate rainbow candy chips, and whipped cream.
When you’re completely full of monster shake, come see us at Barkau Automotive. We’ve got a great selection of used cars and something for everyone since 1952.
